About this site
Hi! My name is Artem, and I’m a hobbyist jeweler. I started my hobby back in 2018. While my hobby has had its ups and downs, I’m still into it and would like to share what I’ve learned.
My background is in software development, but I’ve always been interested in arts and crafts. Ultimately, I found that jewelry-making is a perfect combination! I started with some online courses, but unfortunately, they didn’t include a learning map. So, I had to figure it out on my own.
Now, you can find courses that cover the topics in a structured way. But one question still left to the student to figure out is how to combine these learnings. It’s like software development: you can go through multiple tutorials and learn different techniques, but to learn how to apply them, ideally, you need to work with an experienced professional and learn from them. It especially applies to architecting the piece so that the result is good-looking, sturdy, and wearable.
In this blog, I’d like to share my thinking process through problems and projects I’m working on and why I chose to use a specific tool or technique. I hope it helps aspiring jewelry makers like myself. If you’d like to follow my journey, go ahead and subscribe to my mailing list to get access to my posts before I publish them here.
